3.2 to 3.4 cam settings

8 years ago I had "sport" cams installed, along with other mods..."87" 911. Now my 3.2 to 3.4 conv. (9.5 to 1 JE by EBS) is almost complete and I lost the specs on the cams. They were from Windward in Putney Vt. They had "sport" stamped on them. Any ideas?

The winward "Sport SC" cams are set at 1.8 to 2.0 mm. I would set them closer to 1.8 with the new pistons.

Was there a windward cam designated just "sport"? The porsche guy who installed them for me is recommending a setting of 1.5 but he doen't remember what the specs were either. Also other previous mods include B&B ssheaders and exhaust, larger throttle body/fuel pres. reg.,porting. Stock motronic, single plug.

This is sort of off the topic but did you happen to CC the piston dome volumes of your JE "9.5:1" pistons yet? I got a set from EBS and they CC'd out to 10.5:1 compression. I sent them back and got another set of "9.5:1" JE's - those also CC'd out the same i.e. 10.5:1.
Those pistons were for a 3.0->3.2 conversion but you should make sure you check your compression before you put the motor together.

BTW: The EBS guys are great, I think this is a JE mixup.

No, I think it's too late, this should be interesting, as we are almost done.

1.5 mm is fine. It may help with your possible 10.5-1 C/R too.
Every .2 is 1 degree of cam timing depending on how aggresive the cam profile is. In your case the cams are being retarded 2 degrees from the original setting. I am not aware of another version of a sport grind sold by Winward.

Thanks, Chris, John. We've pulled the cams and you are right CAMMASTER, they are "sport sc" and we moved in .1mm increments and checked the clearance to 1.7, and we are checking the dome vol. as well... thanks for the heads up Chris.
