				opening case

To install a 964 distributor you need to change the gear on the crank and for this you will need to open the case? must I go through all the machining as If I were doing a total rebuild? should I just do a total rebuild? Can you open the case, replace that gear and close it without changing anything? This started as a top end but I started changing things 1983 911SC 3.0 with less than 100,000 | ||

Indeed, the crank gear must match the one on the distributor so if you want to use the 3.6 dual-dizzy, you should install the 3.6 crank gear (about $ 65). The crankshaft must be removed so the cases must be opened up.
