Does this part go on a car?

Just finishing up and checked parts manual with engine and I cannot find item 55, a protective sleeve which apparently goes around the oil feed line.

Anybody seen this on their engines?

The later braided steel line doesn't have that sleeve

It's a heat protective sleeve, and yes, it's on most early 964's.

You can buy an aftermarket sleeve from most performance part stores. The oil pipe will eventually start leaking, and as suggested above, a good engineering hose shop will replace the rubber hose with a steel braided version for little $.
