Does this Flywheel match this Crankshaft?
I purchased a "Complete" engine on Pelican, and am not sure if the nine bolt flywheel matches the nine bolt crankshaft for this "1985 3.2 complete".
The Crankshaft has a roll pin and the flywheel does not. In addition, the flywheel is rusty. Is this normal/acceptable. I appreciate the help as I validate that what I bought can be assembled. Than

That is completly the wrong flywheel for the 3.2 motor, looks to me like one off a 3.0 which is also a 9 bolt but as you say it does not have the roll pin. The purpose of the pin is to align the fly wheel on the 3.2 as it should have timing notches (like raised squares) on the outside of the flywheel which are used for timing etc. The 3.0 does not have these notches.

Rusty is okay. If you're not running it with the Motronic injection, you should be able to use this flywheel okay...

I am running this 3.2 with the motronic ignition, so I assume this is the wrong flywheel.
Should I be asking for a flywheel that is "indexed" for motronic ignition? Thanks

If you look very closely, you'll see that the roll pin in superfluous. The bolt holes are such that the flywheel can only go on one way. I never noticed that until someone told me.
Pretty much any used flywheel is going to be rusty because you can't really oil them for storage. -Chris

I think the roll pin is there to remove any slop that might be in the bolts. It's probably minimal, but the roll pin indexing is good design from a failure perspective.

The 3.2 flywheel has speed and mark sensor attachment/ projections on it. This is not a 3.2 flywheel.
The dowel pin is there so that the timing/ ECU sensors will be indexed more accurately. My guess is that you have a 3.3 turbo flywheel.
