Took the car to my Mech, he has taken the motor out and found that...

the tappets on the passenger side were loose, making the tapping noise

the heads were really loose, been retensioned no pulled or broken studs(which are steel).

the chain tensioners were set to be as tight s possible an the chain was still loose, new chains and carrera 3.2 upgrade kit is going in.

so Major service will sort it out.

His words were that I was really lucky as the engine had not been serviced correctly as the heads need retensioning every 20,000 Km everything was so loose that its amazing that it still runs.
