Oil pump intermediate shaft snap ring
I've up-graded to a later oil pump as part of my '75 911S 2.7 rebuild and since the pump came from one engine and my intermediate gear assembly came from another, I have a question about the way they are joined. I don't know if there is supposed to be a snap ring on both the pump end and intermediate gear end of the shaft that joins the two. The PET catalogue doesn't show one on the pump end but does on the intermediate gear end. Seems like there should be one in each end since both parts have grooves in the splines just in front of the where the shaft joins them. I currently only have a snap ring on the intermediate shaft end.

There is a snap ring on both the pump and the intermediate shaft the locate the oil pump drive shaft.

Thanks Wayne and Henry. I found a local source of metric snap rings and actually got everything installed and the case closed up this weekend.
