3.2 or s- spec 2.2?
Which would be more of a bang for the buck in my 70t? I know theres about a 30 hp difference between the two but 3.2's are also very pricey. Any suggestions?

HMM I have been in both installed in an early car.
2.2S is a FUN engine. high revving, raw sound, vintage feel. MFI. what else can I say? 3.2 is more torque (a lot more) lots of power off idle and low rpm. Totally different feel than an early car. To me, it looses a bit of the early car mystique. Even my carb'd 3.0 feels about the same. A set of cams would easily fix that. The choice is up to you. Depends on your goals for the car.

Two great engines from two different worlds of thought.
High revving, magical song or power like a Toyota Tundra. Young Skywalker, choose the world you want to exist in and the answer will be revealed to you. Sorry about that, I sometimes seem to channel Yoda ![]() A simple note: Your log-in seems to say it all " Redlineshftr"

Thanks for the advice. Im definetly going to go 2.2s. I bought my Porsche because it has that raw nostalgic race car feel that i love. I just want more power!

Put cams in a 3.2 and arguably you get the best of both worlds. A 3.2 with 993SS cams and SSIs will make over 250fwhp between 5700 and 6700rpm and have plenty of high rpm zing. Throw carbs or EFI on it and the skys the limit. Still, I understand the appeal of a 2.2S...

It would seem to me most HP for your buck would be a 3.2. Displacement is usually cheaper HP than high revving high strung engines like a S 2.2 but fun factor is not always measured in HP or lap times especially concerning a street car. So in many cases most fun would be the high strung engine that makes you work for your speed, giving you power and sound like the big engines do not. but if numbers are your game it is hard to beat 3.2
