Installing Rods On Crank??

I have looked everywhere and haven't come up with an anwser to if when installing the rods on a crankshaft, should the bearing tabs be facing up or down in the engine case? All I'm doing is using that as a reference to explain if it matters if the rods can be flipped upside down.

This is a 76 2.7 if it matters

Thanks

Wayne's book also describes this on Page 124. It's fresh in my mind because I just reassembled the crank this weekend.
