Removing 993 wrist pin clips

I am at the stage of removing the extra stiff wrist pin clips that Posche uses on the 964/993's...is there a trick to this? They feel very tight and if I pry with a screwdriver I am afraid of screwing up the taper area of the piston. I will keep fiddling with it but any advice or recommendations would be appreciated!

I did a search but only found info on the lighter clips they put on the older engines.

Other than that the teardown is going well!

I think I used an "L" shaped dental pick to get it started and then some needlenose pliers (with notched tips) or hemostats to hold the clip while working the the clip out.
Remove any burrs afterwards and test for fit with a wristpin while it's still on the bench.
Wait to you go to put those babies in.

I was thinking about the notched tip pliers. To put them back in I am going to get the tool to do that...I am a tool junkie anyways. I might try to duplicate the Porsche Tool (P/N #000 721 950 00?) on my lathe...

I will give it a try this morning.

Yup, I just used my trusty L shaped pick and they came out fine. I think I was being too tenative.
