Need help figuring up piston cc's needed

Looking to make some 2.2L pistons for a turbo.

What I need to know is what the dome cc's are supposed to be to give me about 7.3:1 compression ratio.

What I have heard is that the heads (2.2L twin plugged) are approx. 69cc's

The piston skirt gap is 1 mm.

If this is correct, then it looks like I need a 9cc dome.

This seems odd. I would have thought I needed a dish.

Anyone see a problem with my calculations?

Thanks

Ed

I think you might plug in your numbers here and come up with the dome you need? might have to convert some to mm

Assuming bore of 84mm, stroke of 66mm, deck height height of 1mm, and your given head cc of 69: Piston dome needs to be 16.5cc for 7.30:1 CR

Changing deck height to 1.25mm: Piston dome needs to be 18cc for ~7.31:1 CR

I can send you the .xls file to make these calculations easier.

Does anyone have a set of 2.2 or 2.4L heads that they can cc for me. Mine are out and I want to make sure that 69 is right.

Thanks

Ed

Ed,
I came up with the same as Charlie, 16.4 dome with a 1mm deck height.
Bruce Anderson says "the 2.2 to 2.7 heads are in the 68mm range"
