No Gasket - Cylinder Sealant?

OK, I've read all the previous threads on using sealant - what kind/brand of sealant - on the under cylinder copper gasket.

However, to get the deck height where I want it, I'll be doing without the copper gasket.

So, the question: use sealant at the cylinder to case mating flange or not?

If yes, I'd be using the high temp Hylomar non-hardening - good to 600F/315C.

If no, reasoning?

With no shim you definitly need some sealant. Your choice sounds good. It must be non-hardening so the cylinder can seat all the way when you torque the heads (much later in the process than putting in the cylinders).

Yep Hylomar works well..

You want no-hardening stuff here i reckon..

Curil T or Curil K2 are my votes. I'm not a fan of dry assembly. No-hardening for sure!
