The accumulator will be there until the fuel cell goes in. Just extra security to assure the injectors are not starved of fuel.

What are the details on the big bear run? I will be heading to Laguna multiple times over the summer to watch races, probably the concours at pebble beach, break in runs to my grandparents and who knows what else.

so close

Its been a while but finals at school have been keeping me away. Taking breaks to work on the wiring is nice and I am about done. Just need to hookup the injectors this afternoon, run a check on everything, go through all the setup steps for the brain, load the start map and see what happens. Getting pretty excited.

at long last

No more wiring, no more wrench turning, no more getting dirty although I dont really mind any of those. I hooked up the laptop and started talking with the brain half an hour ago. No I can load the base map, hookup the starter and see what happens.

No leaks in the fuel system, fuel pump whirrs away happily, things are looking good for this weekend.

I will post pictures soon, just too stoked to take any now because I can program this finally!

Plus, we have all seen motors in cars, nothing new there lol

cheers

Very cool, can't wait to see a pic of the motor running!

If you get a chance I would love to know what injectors you are running and see a pic of your fuel line routing, both to the rails and back to the return line.

Thanks again for you help on this stuff!

Cheers

Ok things are looking good, just a slight issue with the clutch cable. Who here can host or post sound and or video? Its coming soon, oh and the Autronic software does a rough calculation of horsepower, should be interesting...

Hey!!! fellow youngster with a car way to nice for what we've actually acomplished in our lives..(assuming)!

very nice build up!

however i am wondering how it is 3.3L? if your using the stock crank it should be just under 3500cc's....
[(stroke)x(pie)(bore/2)^2]x6

as i'm also using 100mm P&C's in a 3L case, and i beleieve my stroke is 73.x (x~6 guessing)... so it'll be 34xx~3.5L...

if yours is 3.3, then your stroke is around 70mm.... and u should rev like a freaking bat outta hell (i plan to also)..

it'll be interesting to compare our number when the time is done. as i to am using twin plugs and crank fireigntion. the differance is in the CR...i will be higher ... around 12:1, our headers (B&B here), and the biggest differance (maybe aside from stroke) is that i'm using carbs (46mm weber IDA's with 46mm intake ports and 43mm exhuast)... i too am running a M&K muffler setup, but a different model..

i'm jealous of your engine bay bling...however i recently invested in a new porsche black sound pad...as these engines are loud!

have u added any oil coolers to the car? i'm willing to be our cars begin to be a whole lot different after the engine....if u consider them similar...lol

-what are u studing in school? i'm assuming your in university, though it is high school exam time also...

anways...great thread...sorry for the semi-hijack just extremely interested.

oh and i love your shroud and fan!!! i have gone a vintage 50/60's masserati/ferrari style finsh.... but your will always get more attention!

edit: forgot to mention that our cars base was similar also, i am in a 75 911s....kinda....lol... cheers!

3.0 crank and 100mm cylinders is right around 3.3 liters. You get a 3.5 when you use a 74.4 3.2 crank (or 3.3)

Cheers

mechanical engineering here in the states then off to cranfield in the UK for motorsports engineering. the car has a well sized setrab cooler in the front bumper, getting turbo brakes and 16 fuchs soon, along with fuel cell and brake booster.

dont worry jeff I will. wired up the starter tonight, double checked all I/P and O/P on the brain again, funky problem with the fuel pump, clutch cable is getting hungup somewhere and wont return properly. Im thinking with the car jacked up the way it is the pickup in the tank isnt getting any fuel, going to drain it and add good stuff tomorrow. Cant wait to get home from my final lol.

Ryder, are you using a map sensor on this setup? If so, did you use a vacuum manifold and run each intakes vacuum source to it?

Cheers

I went back and forth on that for a while Jeff. The autronic brain has an internal map sensor which is pretty slick. For now though I am not using map at all. Its all TPS and crank sensor with an 02 sensor and temp sensor. I can hook it up later if I want but most likely wont. A friend of mine is just finishing up a 3.8 with Jenveys and they are running the map sensor, each TB has a hose coming from it feeding a small plenum to smooth intake reversions and give a truer reading. From there it gets plugged into the MAP sensor.

If you have them already, take some time with the jenveys getting each throttle plate balanced. I put mine together and then fiddled with each side making sure they move in unison. Then once I had them on the motor I spent a lot of time with it on the stand getting the two sides balanced and working in unison, just a heads up.

Got them today!!! Need to trim the shroud a wee but to clear the manifolds but should not take too long. I hear you about the linkages. What filters do you have? My setup came with the PiperCross ones and I am a little worried they may be too tall!

My ECU has internal map as well, but I may just do like you are doing for now and see what I think........

Cheers

Ryder, where did you get the adapter to go from the stock pressure (feed) fuel line to the -6 stuff? I believe it is a 14x1.5 male thread on the line on the car.

Cheers
