Cam Timing
I have just finished the cam timing process and I want to double check that I did it correctly. Is it correct that the cam dots on both the left and right cam should be both facing the same direction at the same time? And am I correct in thinking that the opening measurement at TDC (5.2mm) should alternate between crank revolutions (e.g., first revolution #1 cyc. opens, second revolution #4 opens, third revolution #1 opens again). Thanks in advance.

Gutten tag!
Its nothing fancy. I am just rebuilding the top end of my 69S. It got an S cam which is kind of peaky and I thought I could give more bottom end power while its out. I have rebuilt the tranny, resealed the interface bewteen case and chainbox, camtowers and heads, put in updated the chain tensioners and idler arms, dressed up the engine and engine compartment, put on 2 Weber 40mm IDA 3C, etc. Next winter I will do the bottom of the motor including the case, crank, etc and if I can afford it maybe upgrade to 2.2 from the current 2.0. don ______________________________________ 1963 356B T6 Super 1969 911S 1981 911SC 2001 C320 |
