What sealant to use for oil pressure sender?
Help!
My 964 C2 oil pressure sender is leaking. I am chaning the o-ring seal. In addition, what sealant should I use to prevent further leak? Locktite 574? Curil-T? Gasket maker? I am thinking of putting the sealant on the mating surface of the sender to the block. See pics. ![]() ![]() thanks, anthony |

No sealant is necessary. Clean as well as possible and install a new Viton seal.

Thanks Henry. But what is bothering me is that it was a new (non-Viton) o-ring I put in during my rebuild last year.
Is there any extra step I can take to prevent leak? anthony |

I just lubed up the O ring and inserted without any sealant...its pretty hard to seal that up and the O ring is nice and fat anyways....

I'll try with just the o-ring.
