69 engine in to 73 body
Hi ,
I have a 1969 , 911 2.0 L engine and would like to install it in to my 1973 , 911 body. The 1973 body has it's own wiring harness which appears to have Bosche injection. and is different from the 1969 wiring harness. the 1969 engine requires a set of wires to the On/Off solenoids engine valves etc.. which is not available in the 1973 wiring harness, the engine has webbers. Can anybody tell me if I can use the 14 pins connector located in the 1973 wiring harness (at engine compartment end) to connect to the engine wires. Many thanks in advance |

The thing to remember about Porsche wiring is that in general, they (Porsche) used the same color code from year to year.
That means if your engine harness has a green/red wire and your chassis has a green/red wire that they go together. Most of the early cars had extra wires that ran front to rear so if your chassis seems to be missing a wire you need you can convert one of the extra wires for that purpose. Make certain that the "extra" wire is not being used somewhere down the line. If you plan to use the 14 pin connector verify pin location. They general use the same colors but quite often change pin location. If the wiring works you will forget what you did very shortly so make yourself a diagram to explain what you did. Good luck.

Dear Mr. Schmidt;
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the reply. The 1973 chassis is not missing any wires, it is the design of the system for 1973 is different from 1969 . the wiring harness/connector that is available on the 1969 differ from that harness on the 1973. Do you know of any wiring diagram that will show a 1973 , 911 with Bosch fuel injection? Many thanks |

Here's a link to the diagrams. The 71' diagram is virtually the same as a 73' MFI. If your car is a 73.5' CIS then use the 73' CIS diagram
