Garage
fan assembly

I'm busy putting my SC together and up to assembling my recond alternator . I have two different washer/spacer things that go on the alternator shaft. One I can find in Waynes book and goes behind the final nut. This looks like a stepped spacer. The other one is a dished spacer. If it was about 10 th smaller in diam it would fit into the bearing housing on the alternator, behind the fan.
Other than that, I can't find a home for it. Does the fan just go straight down on the bare shaft?

As far as I know (my set up) the fan slips straight on to the keyed shaft then shims then the v belt half then shims (total shims must be 6) then a cupped washer over the shims then the nut.
