3.6 with JE 102mm P&C's, any potential problems?

We were thinking about using JE-pistons kit with pistons and cylinders for rebuilding 3.6TT engine after it compes home from Nurburgring. There are 100mm and 102mm kit's as well. Using 102mm would give us 3.72L displacement and lower boost treshould approx. 180RPM.

This is the kit:

Are there any problems using 102mm P&C's from reliability stand? Do we have to enlarge spigots or anything like that or is bolt-on?

What about using Perfect Bore - barrels? Anyone that uses/used them?

Thanx!

P.S. Which dome volume should be used for ~7.5:1 C/R?

As far as I am aware, JE does not stock or offer an off the shelf TT piston, nor does perfect bore make a TT cylinder. FYI, they are approximately .213" shorter than a normally aspirated cylinder. Also, your case would have a 107 spigot, requiring you to open up the case when going to 102mm with machine-in 109 spigot barrels. I would highly recommend flame ringing the cylinders and heads too when bumping up to a 102mm bore as well.

I can't find the exact dome volume, but for 7.5:1 it's pretty much a flat top. I have pictures somewhere on my computer of 8:1 and 8.5:1 TT pistons, but I can't seem to find them...

Update- here's a pic of an 8.5:1 coated je that I did for a TT...

Is the black coating on the OD for low friction? Is there a coating on the top for heat or is it plain?

Yup, that's an anti-friction coating. The top has a thermal barrier coating.
