What Are These Guys Looking At ?

The answer to this ever intriguing question is, a 2.7, Twin plug, Supertec engine.

The car is a beautifully restored 67 soft window 911 "S"
The project started some 4 years ago and was completed in time from Ventura.

Engine spec: 239 HP@6900 and 215 ft/lb @5500 on 91 octane ( bear in mind stock air filter, stock heater boxes and 40mm Webers)
2.0 aluminum case
2.4 "S" crank
twin plug, 2.7 "RS" heads ported to 38 in and 36 ex
Mahle 91 mm pistons 10.4:1
Supertec head studs
906 cams
Carillo rods
Turbo oil pump
shuffle pins
Dry film lubricant on all bearing
Internal regulator alternator
Turbo chain tensioners w/chain savers
40mm Webers jetted for street
Stock Porsche heat exchangers

And of course Supertec / BurnBros twin plug distributer.

Henry - I see they are using MSD coils with the Bosch CDI, didn't think you were supposed to do that?? Also notice the fuel pump in the ngine rather than up front by the tank.

PS: very pretty

The coils are period correct Marelli, the CDs are 8 pin Bosch and the fuel pump is in the original place for the chassis.

Heh heh...

Sometimes I feel like a crow, peering at all the shiny stuff. Nicely done Henry.

Very, very nice as usual. I thought that 906 cams would be too aggresive for a street car. The dyno numbers say that just isn't true.
Who knew?

Henry, you are the man.
