930 pistons without a turbo?
I'm considering replacing the p&c on my 82 3.0 with 3.3 liter turbo p&c. I'm using a 3.2 intake with EFI so I don't really need the CIS style pistons.
Will the cylinders fit my case and heads? Will the wristpins fit my rods? Anything else I need to think about? Any idea what compression ratio I'll end up with? Thanks!

Don't do it. 7.5:1 CR will make your car respond like a Geo Metro.

Short stroke (70.4 vs 74.4) and higher wrist pin location will give you a compression ratio closer to 6:1.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like even if I put a turbo on it, the combination of an SC crank and turbo pistons would not give enough compression.

If the rods are rebuilt for a 23 mm wrist pin and with a .80mm offset you can get the compression back. this combination makes a 3.12 liter turbo with nice performance.

That sounds interesting. So I guess there are no other compatability issues with the case or heads. Should any good machine shop be able to mod the rods? Would a 964 cam be a good choice?

Henry won't shout out for himself, but I'd consider him. Be careful with local machine shops in that they often work in thousands of inches and not necessarily metric offset bushings.
Sure, I would say that any good Porsche shop should be able to do this, but certainly ask questions.
