964 3.6 with 915 - idle problems
Hi guys,
I have a 1992 3.6 with a 915 box in my recently purchased SC, and the idle is erratic. It seems the idle air controller can't keep up, and the car will rev up and down and within a few seconds will stall. At other times it seems to idle fine. I've been playing with the throttle stop, and can improve the situation, but my thought is that maybe the idle air controller is faulty and responding slowly. Does anyone have any experience with this? I have a thought that maybe the 915 and whatever flywheel is in there could also be a factor ( could be a lightweight ).

Hunting Idle
There is also a good post on disassembly of the maf an the adjustment of the wiper arm to a new area but I could not find it. A vac leak could also cause this problem...

Just for reference, I cleaned the idle air controller ( just with plenty of spray degreaser ) and adjusted the throttle stop to ensure it was contacting the microswitch, and it fixed the problem - the idle is now perfect and rock steady.
Thanks.
