				Twin Plugging the 2.0L

After being very pleased with twin plugging my 2.5L and upping the camshafts from DC 60 to DC 80 I decided to do the same to the 2.0L Should have the Cams back from Dougherty in a week or so. The heads will be done in a few days. The Distributor and wires and clutch package will come in 2 weeks from JB Racing. I decided instead of swapping distirbutor and wires from the 2.5 to the 2.0 both engines will have their own systems. The only thing that I need to swap are the intake and carbs. The 2.0L will benefit greatly from twin-plugging.

				Twin Plug?

Saw pic's of your last twin-plug motor . . . and turned green with envy. I'm building a 2.5SS/DC60 motor right now. . . mind if I ask what the measurable difference was with the twin-plug setup. I think you converted from single-plug, right? Why did you do it? I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on getting my heads worked. I've ruled out a twin-plug just because I could not clearly see the advantage to spending the dough. I'm going to run 89mm 10.3:1 Mahles which will probably be less than that when it's all done and I'll be running this on pump gas. My thoughts are that I may have to play with the timing advance, just a little, if at all. I know Mark Scott is running a single-plug too, but he's running his motor on race gas. Your thoughts on this would really be great right now, since it's not too late for me to change my mind. Thanks, Tom

Tom: If I might say,..........I would reconsider your thoughts about trying to safely run 10.3:1 on 91 octane fuel using single-ignition. That might carry some expensive consequences regardless of how much total timing you use.

Minkoff, Twin-plug your 2.0 will make a great difference. It is worth the effort. Best, Grady

Got the heads back from the machine shop, refinishing some parts, laying out all the gaskets and seals. Waiting on the cams so I can perform my piston to valve clearences.

Dry fitting everything for my piston to valve clearences. Assembled fan...........no powder coating! Chased all threads with tap and dye.Time consuming but worth the effort.
