				early 2.0 intermediate shaft setup

			Hi,

Are the shims still avalible, or do you use a stackup of gaskets. What is the current proceedure on this. What is the clearance supposed to be. Thanks Ed |

Our host actually sells the shims. The correct procedure for setup can be found in the early factory manuals

Great thanks. I can not see, however, where the shims are on this site. Spent about a half an hour looking. If you could post a link I would appreciate it. I called my local p-car dealer (Stoddard) they said that they were discontinued. This is a race motor that I have built before. Last time I assembled it I used a stackup of several gaskets instead of shims because I was led to believe this is the current procedure since the shims have become un-avaliable. Thanks Ed

			Hey, there they are.

So, why would I not just use a stackup of gaskets? I think I used 3 gaskets last time. Ed

Because gaskets compress and lose the precise nature of this measurement. Pelican has a whole variety of the shim thicknesses under the Engine heading in the new parts area - look under crankcase and related parts.

I ordered a specific shim from Henry @ Supertech. I didn't like the idea of trying to guess the crushed height.
