2.4E mfi set-up on a T motor
I'm sure I have seen this question answered here before, but I can't seem to find it in the archives.
I may have an opportunity to buy a complete E mfi set-up, which I would put on my 2.4T motor. Is this basically a "bolt-on" improvement, or would I need to have a lot of other $$$ work done? Also, would the above set-up with E cams and higher compression pistons make for a (relatively) low-budget engine upgrade? I just dyno-ed my stock 2.4T motor on Saturday and hit 132hp and 138lb/ft, so I don't want to change anything major on what seems to be a strong, original motor!

Cams and pistons would offer far more improvement than the injection system.
The "T" injection is suitable for engines upgrades. I would be surprised to see any improvement with the injection alone. Do the pistons (9.5:1) install E or Solex cams, port the heads and enlarge butterflies/stacks and you'll have a great little engine. Only buy the injection if you have money to burn or want to save it for a future project.

Henry,
Thanks for the quick response!! I may buy the MFI stuff anyway for a spare, if the price is right. How much horsepower gain would I expect from the modifications listed above? Would I have to change the MFI pump to do this? Thanks!

It's very hard to quote horse power numbers on a hypothetical engine but my guess is 20-30.
