Question valve adjustment tool

Is there a valve adjustment tool that is like a dial guage type?

Yes, the standard Z-block and dial indicator can be mounted with the tip of the indicator resting on the jam nut for the elephant's foot adjuster. You zero the gauge with the adjuster pressed up against the tip of the valve stem, then push on the rocker pad to open the gap. The indicator should move and show you how much of a gap there is, 0.1mm in the case of a 911.

The thought of being that accurate is appealing. Could you show me exactly where the tip of the dial indicator should be set and where you'd push the rocker pad?
Thanks,
Tom

Thanks Michael -
That's what I suspected, but just wanted to be sure I was visualizing correctly.

Geez I know it's accurate, but doesn't this add HOURS to your valve adjust?

Yes... and no... at least for me, I'm just not very good with the feeler gage and getting #6/#3 intake is a real PITA when its in the car. With the dial I don't have to contort so much. For the most part, I'm not in a hurry either and no one is paying me except myself

Best regards,

Michael
