Dear all,
if a case saver outer diameter 14mm x 2.0 will be installed in a 7R housing isnīt there a risk that the cylinder gasket flange get to narrow. These kind of case savers as listed at pelican requires a tapped prepared bore. Is the process as followed. Bore 12.1 mm and the use a three step tap and perform the M14 thread. But a M14 metric has a slope of 1.5. Why has the case saver a slope of 2.0 would be a 13mm be enough. That would leave 1,5 mm wall thickness. Hope you can brighten my mind. Bob |

It does get close to the edge by hand, if you use a mill you can cheat a little and give yourself a bit more room, I have 14mm taps from 1.0mm to 2.0 pitch, nothing really odd about that?

Thank you Phillip.
Was the outside diameter M14 x 2.0 for the case savers. And do you did the work. Did they use an interference bore or tapped M14 and with loctide glued in the bold. Bob |
