I think thats fine, I've seen it in black too.

Besides cutting down on heat do they attenuate the sound?

Nice engine.

great looking engine, any idea what hp you will get? great idea with the 2 colors for the plug wires, easier to keep them organized! the only problems i've heard of with header wrap is it holding in excessive heat making the tubes brittle. the other problem is getting it wet. i think they sell a sealer that help keeps the water out.

Looks great Mark.

A few questions. You're using later chain boxes, I can tell by the Carrera tensioners, and late cam boxes too, I can tell by the turbo lower valve covers. Probably have four-bearing cams under there. What I don't get is why the Biral cylinders, do the rules mandate that the cylinders be original? Just curious, not criticizing you in the slightest, really just wondering if it's a rules thing.

3 bearing cams, as far as the biril cylinders I had them in stock.

2.0 Engine

Hi Mark, your project looks very nice, If you have some feed back on the wire lengths I would appreciate that. With stainless headers the wrap wont be such a problem, mild steel headers turn to dust quickly retaining that much heat under the wrap. Send me some pics for the web site when you get a chance.

the wire lengths were right on. Adding the length to the bottom cyl 5 and 6 worked great! Will install this engine at seasons end.

Not sure if this one will go to the dyno, I may do it the old fashioned way, take it to the track test and tune and my right foot.

Hey Minkoff, any results to share with us??

I am curious how the exhaust wrap worked out i.e reducing heat soaking of the bottom of the engine?
Great job by the way.............!

Bob

Engine is still on the stand, will install over the winter after the racing season is over.
