This is the first time I have seen the JB Racing distributor up close and it looks very nice. Top quality in design and execution. Chevy parts ? right ?
Good job Mike! ![]()

12 pin dist.
Thanks Henry, the components are domestic in that the magnetic pick ups are the type that MSD and Mallory etc... use for production and racing applications. they for the most part are available at any speed shop or track side venders.

I have ran the JB Distributor all season w no issues. I have completed every lap of every event plus a 2 hour enduro and several test sessions. Needless to say I am pleased w the product and have purchased 2 units.

Dist.
Hi Mike, I can mail or e mail you the complete set of instructions no problem, the twin pickups can be used 1 per MSD box or split the signal at the box end and use just one pickup and have one for a spare if needed ( I like the latter so you know there is a problem rather than running on just upper or lowers until its noticed) drop me a note Brunsmspts@aol.com with your info.
Thanks, Mike Bruns

Potential distributor options for a 930
I currently have Electromotive XDi twin plug ignition on my 930. I've been very pleased with it. Timing is easy for me to set and measure, it has been very reliable, was easy to install, and the MAP sensor that retards the timing as the boost/RPMs climb, has been a nice safe guard. Additionally, I like the cleaned up looks on the engine.
HOWEVER, I do love the looks of that big azz 12 point cap...even if it does mean that I'd gain back a little clutter. When I was exploring options during my engine rebuild, I just couldn't get my hands around all of the parts required to make the twin-plug dizzy work, in a turbo application; CDI boxes, coils, etc. Electromotive was a turn key solution, and that's why I went that way. I'm re-thinking this now, though. Can one of our resident experts (Henry and/or Mike Bruns) please post what else is needed. What CDI boxes and/or coils one needs to buy? Are there other electronic options that would work with one of these dizzies? Thanks, Jeff

Twin plug system requirements :
Distributor One or two CD (1-MSD 6AL will trigger two coils) 2 Coils: we use MSD Blaster SS Harness (ignition) Second wire set Machine work for second plug in the heads Machine lower valve covers for second plug connector Plug Connector holders (gravity causes the connectors to fall off) Some tachometer / CD combos will require a signal generator Right foot extension to avail yourself of the performance enhancement (optional)
