Question Timing - Easy

2.4 T w/ hotter cams.

Should the timing be set to 5 degrees ATDC with the Vacuum hose taken off?

Anyone know what you would set it to with the vacuum hose on.. Just Curious.

I set the timing yesturday to 5 ATDC w/ the vacuum line connected and the engine ran awful.. Turning it to around the 30 mark seemed to make it run much better...

Where should it be set? Is it possible that i have my dizzy pushed in the wrong spot?

Your vacuum line is actually a retard line (stock 2.4 engine/ignition). If you disconnect the vacuum line you would need to set it more advanced like maybe 5 degrees BTDC. You can tell if it's right by reving the engine and whatching the timing move. It should go to about 30 degrees advance at 5000RPM.
