What would you pay for a used 930 engine and trans?

Let me just open by saying that I freaking CANNOT STAND the constant "price check" posts that are put up by people feeling out the value of things. If you want an appraisal PCA offers a service, but it's impossible to give an accurate estimate of value without an assessment of condition AND a climate with a willing seller and a willing buyer.

That said, I'm now going to violate the very action I vituperate above:

HOW MUCH FOR A USED 930 ENGINE with the following attributes
40K since rebuild
Turbo included
930 4 speed gearbox.

Ten grand for the motor and another two for the box about right? Too high?

does the tranny have LSD? that would + or - about 800-1000. If the box is in good shape w/ out LSD look to get 2000+, with LSD 2800-4000.

any leak down or compression numbers on the engine? that would make a big difference on the engine values. Also many buyers would want to know how many miles before rebuild, any upgrades when rebuild was done, what kind of turbo, Carrera tensioners, etc.

There was a guy on the classified forum looking for an engine and tranny just last week if your in need of a buyer.

You will need to find a buyer that can afford the high price. I sold one 2 years ago for $8500 in 9 hours on ebay. No one would give me $6K on the pp classified for two weeks. I am thinking maybe I got lucky too. Good luck.
