Looks very nice Ed, we've got the same thing going around here in East Texas as well.

Back at it today.....got the alternator bolted in and wired, mounted the shroud, then installed the heater duct and the block-off plate. Then, I flipped her over one last time(!) to bolt the headers on, and I'm ready for an intake!!

I have the intake halve's assembled, and I'll get the throttle body, fuel rails, injectors and such on tomorrow. This is when pictures are going to be really helpful.

Thanks Jeremy, but I was just thinking out loud. I've got a lot of pics that I took, but I guess you never know, so I may need help with a pic of an intact Motronic setup at some point.

The reality of it all hit me as I looked at all of the parts, wires, fuel lines, etc, and I knew my aging memory wouldn't be up to the task by itself!

Well, I believe I got thru the jigsaw puzzle of the intake assembly today. I still need to run the injector harness, but I think I'll do that after I get the assembly on the engine tomorrow. Ignore the shabby boot coming out of the air meter where the cone filter mounted. I got a new 3" ID silicone elbow that will run the filter toward the back of the car, and probably in a position to gulp a little cooler air.

Oh, and I finished totalling up the expenditures on this project...

Now why would you do a thing like that?

Tom

Morbid curisosity.....I've never worried about what I spend on the car, but something about knowing the total on this was driving me nuts.

I've kept every receipt of everything I've bought for the car, and that is something I'll never total. I'd find I'm in 993 Carrera S territory, I'm sure.

Hi Ed -
My comment was said a bit tongue and cheek - I too would probably have to know what I'd spent on the rebuild. I have a vague idea what each major project on my car has cost, but would never dare to flip through my very thick 3-ring binder w/a calculator to sum the totals! I think you'd need a super computer to run that.

Anyway, it's looking great and now you've got a brand new motor - that you built yourself - whatever it cost, it was worth it.

Tom
