After you replace the fuel lines, and you still have the issue of it trying to start for awhile, and sputtering at the end, double check TDC and the dizzy rotor (by pulling spark plug on #1). I spent days trying to figure out why my engine was doing this, and I finally double checked the rotor after pulling valve covers to make sure my cams weren't 180 out(they weren't). I had pulled the dizzy so many times (replaced green wire from hell) I had the rotor 180 out. She then fired right up!

P.S. it is so much easier to pull the tranny w/ the engine next time you take the engine out. Especially when you have that scissor jack set up (I am envious)
John, I may have a similar issue on timing, but I think I may be off a tooth on the dizzy. It runs, but only gets "good combustion" on three cylinders. See my new thread on the subject: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/911-engine-rebuilding-forum/381416-got-half-my-new-motor-running-please-feel-free-weigh-ideas.html#post3633488

Actually, now that I've done it, I think that removing the engine without the trans is a bit simpler and faster.

Beautiful engine Ed, beautiful. May I ask what type of air cleaner you're running?

Ed, I must commend you on the great looking engine. Hopefully by now you have the bugs out of it. Also, I really like your taste in wheels! A++++ Tony.

Thank you Tony. The bugs are out-did my first real track weekend in a year this past. I love the cams....better mid range torque, and great pull at top end to 7k. I do like the wheels, but when a certain someone in BC gets my new wheels done, these are history.
