3.2 engine barn find. Now what ?

Hi guys,

I found a complete 3.2 engine in a old house!
It missing the AFM,DME,DME wiring harness and the coil.
I was covered in dust/mud and I think the following.

Removal of the intake as a unit, clean and check injectors.
Removal of engine tin.
Removal of Fan & Fan shroud.
Degreasing / Clean of all parts incl. longblock.
Check/Adjsut valves.
New spark plugs.

How sounds the idead to have it rotated with the starter w/o spark plugs (and to spray a little kroil inside the cylinders) ???

Thanks!
Jim

I could not tell from you post if you have tried to turn it over by hand yet, to make sure that it is not locked up? That would be one of the first things that I would do after cleaning all the crap off of the engine, and then removing the spark plugs, before I would try to turn it over by hand to make sure that it does not have any major problems, like a rod (or other part) going somewhere that it is not supposed to be going. Good luck on the find!!

Torque the Head Studs before you go too far. I saw a barn find 3.2 that had mice living on top of it. Their acidic urine ran down the case and corroded the head studs and they broke, right next to the case.
