2.2 w/ 108K miles: Top end or total rebuild?
I have a 70T with a stock 2.2 and nice tight Webers. Mileage is 108K. It smokes on startup and during acceleration (blue smoke). Question is would a topend only rebuild be a false economy at this mileage? I've heard that the early motors are not as stressed so the rebuild guidelines may be different from later motors.
Any thoughts? Ulrich |

______________ Smoking while accelerating usually indicates oil getting past the rings. IMO one would be better off rebuilding the complete engine rather than just the heads.
