2.8 rsr engine shroud color

Car is a '73 and was a 2.4 T model so the cover was yellow. Then the motor was rebuilt to 2.7 RS spec and the shroud was painted red like an S model. Now the next and hopefully last generation is a 2.8 RSR spec. So what color was the engine shroud? I have heard both blue and black as well as unfinished fiberglass. Does anyone know the answer?

Thanks, Greg

Dean I believe they were unfinished fibreglass. Not sure if this is an RSR engine but you get the idea!

Cheers, Cam

Thanks for the photos. I guess I have a bit of paint removal to put on my list. Body and suspension complete. Motor and trans ready by spring.

While we are at it I am planning on using this car as a daily driver and want to remove the factory air cleaner. Any photos of watershed air cleaners modified to fit the MFI set up, and the vent hose off the oil tank? would love to see some photos of good set ups.

Thanks, Greg

I designed these spacers and Mike Bruns cleaned up the details and did the machine work. These allow clearance for the pump and fuel lines and incorporate the cold start injection. The bonus is it can all be put back to stock in about one hour.
