Alusil Mahle Cylinders????

I have a set of 90 mm pistons and cylinders out of a 2.7, They definately are Mahle, but appear to be alusil???. The cylinder bores are not magnetic in any way, and they appear exactly like the KS alusil cylinders. I think that I had heard some time back that these are silical, which has similar properties to alusil. Anyone seen these before????

Rare, but they exist.

Here's a side-by-side pic of a 90mm Alusil and Nikasil...Both Mahle with P/N 90ZN2W5.

Externally they appear identical with the only difference being in the inner bore of the cylinder.

I got boxes full of the supposed rare Mahle Alusil cylinders, how many do you want? Oh, another way to see if they are Mahle LS Alusil cylinders is that the bottom of the piston skirt is cut straight across, the Nikasil piston has a little tab that sticks down below the skirt a bit. I can dig a picture up if you need it. That is if they are stock and nobody has messed with them on a prior rebuild.

Rare doesn't mean desirable.
