What pistons are these?

Hi All,
I haven't officially started my rebuild thread, but I'm well underway for tearing the engine down. The motor by number is a '75 2.7S. When I purchased it, I was told that the engine had Euro pistons. I pulled the left side heads today, and was greeted with these... Definitely not CIS, but what?

I was also THRILLED to see what appears to be Nikasil cylinders. they have a nice crosshatch pattern, and are slightly magnetic.... Nikasil, right?

Last, it appears that the case has already been timecerted or case-savered... Can anyone verify?

Thanks for all the help, and I'll get the rebuild thread underway!

These look like the 8.5 CR RS pistons.

Here's a better pic for comparison.

That's almost too much for me to wish for.... Look similar to me. I'll pray the right side is in as good of shape as the left. If I'm lucky, can I get away with a scotchbrite/rering?

I found the same pistons, timecerts etc in a '75 California 2.7 I tore apart. The pistons are forged but there is some agreement that running them with CIS would be less than ideal. Find a MFI or carbs and you would be set. Those are Nikasils - get out the bore gauge!

Yep, these babies are getting Webers and headers when it gets stuffed into my 914. Looks like I'll get to choose new cams as well... Found some pitting on a couple of lobes.
