91' 3.3 Turbo rebuild...Just the basics, what to do

Hello everyone...I am in need of a rebuild on my baby, I have the ability (lift, air tools) and the knowledge to rebuild the engine but unfortunately...I'm not exactly "rolling in dough" at the moment due to the present economy as my business has slowed considerably (big surprise LOL). My leakdown tests are not so good (78K on motor)....Valve guides are shot (oil in exhaust ports) and many oil leaks to boot. So, I will buck up for Raceware hardware on heads and connecting rods, that's a given. And I will have the heads done correct w/ upgraded hardware. What else??
Can one usually get away w/ just re-ringing the original pistons? Are the 3.3 barrels usually OK or is reconditioning required? (If so, what?)

I had originally planned on going nuts w/ $17K in parts to build a monster but realistically this is not an option for the forseeable future and I just want to do a basic rebuild to get me thru the next 3-4 years. I do not track the car, basically 1,000 miles/year toy.

I suppose I'm looking for a "basic" list...if that exists
I unfortunately cannot do all the "while your in there" upgrades I had originally planned but obviously I want to do what is needed. Thanks

Do you have Wayne's Book - that's a good place to start.

Also alot of your questions will be answered when you start measuring. On a 3.3 engine - I'd make sure you replace rod bolts - I'd go with an imagine fuel head. Maybe get the cams reground - at 78K - I'd split the case and change the bearings - get the crank inspected. I'd say your P & C's will be the wild card - whether they measure out or not - if you have any damaged rings - mahle P & C are expensive -
