I have heard of these recently. What do we know about them? Photo?

"What are "Eschuchie" pistons?"

Are you sure it's not "escutcheon pin"? (basically a brass nail or brad with a round head).

Those are worn out of specs pistons from a mismatched set, installed by hispanic illegals hired $10/h by Motormeister .

Maybe it's Eskuche, as in Ecurie Engineering, Inc.?

Hmm. . . here it is used with incorrect spelling

E Production 2.0 six race engine HSR SCCA

Escukie is the correct spelling, as in Mark Escukie, from Ecurie Engineering.

Now that the word is right, anyone have any details on the pistons?

Hey John,

Its Mark Eskuche (pronounced Escookie). He has his own piston design for race engines.

Cheers, Juan

Thank heaven that is cleared up. For a minute I thought somebody was talking about écureuil (Only Dr. Du Pasquier will get that joke probably)

Now what makes these special?

I've been over to Mark's FL shop a few times. Nice fellow doing some great vintage work. He summers in WI at his second shop I believe. Don't know anything about the pistons, just the man.

Best regards,

Michael

We have done and continue to do buisness with Mark @ Ecurie. I can tell you from experience that his pistons and other products that he has developed and marketed are top quality. I know many engine builders that use his 356 as well as 2.0ltr design piston.
I am sure he would answer any questions on this matter if contacted directly.

From memory and my memory is fading fast
The sets of Mark's pistons I've seen are very high compression JE pistons with small valve pockets. The heads ran small valves (specially lightened) and very conservative ports.
If I remember correctly the cams were somewhat conservative as well.

Henry, your memory is still good. Marks pistons are generally geared toward high compression.
He does build a conservative but reliable engine.
