twin plug & low compression

Is there a benefit to low compression with twin plug?

I'm planning a rebuild on my 3.0 this winter and I've spoken to a few experts that lurk here. I've been told if my CIS pistons are in spec, I should consider having my 9.3 :1 pistons pocketed for the mod S cam I am installing instead of going with new high comp P&Cs. This is a mostly street / autox motor. Adding twin plug is a relative affordable upgrade since I already have distributorless spark system. .So my question is..... does twin plug offer benefits at 9.3:1. Or should I cut extra spark holes now, Leave em plugged and only run twin plug once I go higher comp 5 years from now?

While the benefit of twin plugs is mostly to allow a higher compression, I believe there is some power benefit from it with no change in compression. The combustion process starts at two places and so spreads quicker resulting is a peak combustion pressure that occurs sooner. Should give more complete combustion and therefor more power and better fuel economy.

Steve Weiner told me "yes", which is why I went 9.5:1 and twin plug. He'll chime in soon, I am sure.

There sure are benefits from twin-ignition on a low-compression engine,.....

Much improved drivability & manners
Sharper throttle response
More torque through the whole RPM range due to reduced need for advance and lower cylinder head temps

The only downside is the damage done to the wallet,...
