Look What I Found Inside Cylinder #6
Based on low compression and a bad leak down test on #5 and #6 , I pulled the engine and tore into the right side.
This is what I found: ![]() The heads were dirty but looked OK otherwise: ![]() The good news is that the Mahle cylinders look good, the bad news is the top and oil control rings were broken: ![]() None of the Dilavar studs were broken or pulled and I was able to extract all the intake and exhaust studs on the three heads. Now to send the heads off to be cleaned and tested. Mark

What kind of noise where you hearing obviously on the right side? I"m about to do a 4-5-6 investigation, but my noise was a rolling rattle. The bottom end sounds relatively smooth even on the revving up to a medium speed. So I'm thinking it's top end. I'm going to post my tear down "progress as I go" a little later today. Good luck to you on your dilemma.

There was no noise. The engine ran strong with a slight miss when the plug would foul. I was using about a quart of oil with each fill up.
