For the record, not all GT3s have a 964 case number. Here's one from a late 997 with a 996 part number

Notice that the 964 case is made in Germany and the 996 one is made in Austria?

As I remember, Porsche started out making cars in Gmund, Austria, and was raised in Austria. He worked for Austrian branches of German car companies. He travelled back to Austria to see his family and the scenic Zell-am-Zee.
Porsche Salzburg (Oersterreich) won Porsche's first overall LeMans victory... Hans Stuck is from Austria, if I remember correctly, the Alpine region. Austria is a very beautiful place and speaks German. I consider them the same, or at least equal. ![]()
