bottom end together! (again)
the first try didn't work out so well. after buttoning up the bottom end I discovered I had my fancy-shmancy torque wrench on NM instead of ft'lbs
![]() ![]() ![]() attempt two much better. more organized. used 574 only on the webs, 1104 on the perimeter, and hylomar on the nose bearing and rear main seal. a couple of observations. 1104 is very nice to work with. a little hylomar on the bottom of the oil pump seals makes sure they stay put. I had to grind the rod bolt seat on the rod caps a bit to fit the ARP bolts. the ears on the bolt head were preventing the bolt from seating in the cap. putting the nut-end seals on the thru bolts later, much faster this way to get torqued up. now it looks as though my case is bleeding to death. note: HYLOMAR ROCKS! ![]() |

Nice work. I can't wait to see it all come together.
