Make your own lower twin plug holders
I know people have made their own and there are many vendors that sell these necessary twin-plug accessories. I made my own from a simple strip of 3/4" aluminum stock.
First measure out the stock. Mine were 3.5" long with a mark at 1" and 2". ![]() After Marking the length I sheared them to correct size. Following the shear I stuck them in the brake and folded a 45 deg angle. If you don't have a brake you can do the same in a vise. ![]() Next, mark the center of the short end to make a mounting hole. ![]() Next, drill a hole here to clear the M6 stud. ![]() After drilling the hole, chamfer the ends. I used a combination of a hand file and the sanding disc on a belt grinder. Next, I bought a can of Plasti-Dip to coat the plug end. This will ensure a good grip on the plug connector and prevent chafing. ![]() Simple shake the can, open it up and dip your newly made lower plug holders. ![]() I hung them up to dry. They fit great and are just snug on the top of the Beru connector. If you use MagnaCore or other wire you can adjust the angle to match the height of the holder. While similar, different manufacturers have slightly different heights. Total cost for this project was $11. $8 for the plasti=dip and $3 for the aluminum. I will follow-up with installed pictures tomorrow.
