Loctite 574 removal

Is there any thing available that will remove 574. I used acetone on the main case surfaces to remove the majority of the sealant but in areas where there has been squeeze out, the build up will not budge. I am a little leery of using a razor blade as I don't want to scratch the surface and have a leak. (the reason the engine came apart in the first place).

Any sugestions?

Thanks

Duane

Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) and a stainless steel tooth brush.

Please be careful with exposure to MEK as it is very toxic.

+1. Used it with a mask and gloves outside but still got nauseated. Works pretty good tho.

Aircraft paint remover for the heavy lifting. Lacquer remover for finishing touches.

I used a plastic spatula which worked pretty darn well. Also heard that 574 will soften old 574. This was, of course, after I already cleaned up the case.

Thanks guys for all the suggestions
The MEK worked great. It's nasty stuff but did a great job.
Hopefully by mid next week the car will together and running leak free.
