Carerra Alternator upgrade

Has anyone upgraded an '82 SC alternator to the Carrera size?

I just discovered my fan and shroud are cracked...

I've read on earlier posts of 82 SC owners upgrading to a more powerful Carrera alternator???

If you have done this... please describe the process and any issues. Thank you.

Also... would someone please link me to the technical bulletin on my model's alternator. I can't seem to find it.

Thanks....

The alternators are both Paris-Rhone. They both fit in the 930 fan housing. The fan housings break, probably because the tension in the belt.
I was doing an 88 and it had one back fin cracked, 3 good so we JB Welded the crack and put it back together.
The option was new factory or aluminum repro, both being expensive and not knowing when it cracked in the last 20 years..putit back together and continually look for a good used housing.
