cam oil line/banjo bolt question
I am replacing the left side cam oil line and I have noticed that none of the 3 holes in the inside of the banjo bolt line up directly with the oil line itself. There is a fair amount of play between the banjo fitting and the bolt itself so can I assume that the oil pressure fills up the void and flows freely into the cam housing?

You are correct. With Factory parts, the holes do not have to line up for the oil to pass freely. Make sure you have new copper or aluminum sealing rings. Best, Grady

Is it okay to use any sealant on the crush washers in this application? I'm referring to the 2 crush washers that are on either side of the banjo connection for the pressure fed chain tensioners. I installed this per instructions and still have a small leak on the drivers side. I'm getting new crush washers and wondered if sealant may help. I'm also wondering if there is any chance that the rubber o ring "behind" or inside the thing that the banjo bolt mounts to could be leaking. They are so close together I think it may be nearly impossible to determine for sure which one is leaking, if in fact the new crush washers don't solve the problem.

I wouldn't use any sealant on the crush washers. Yes the o-ring can leak, it can be replaced by removing the chain cover. Be sure you don't have a leak in the line itself. These lines are known to crack and fail. If it fails and you don't catch it in time you can lose all your oil and ruin your engine.

Thanks Andy, I've looked very closely at the line itself and that does not appear to be the problem. I'll go ahead and put it all back together without any sealant.
