Replace Oil Return Tubes

I'll be doing a rebuild to my 3.0 in the fall to a 3.2SS. About 6 months ago my original oil return tubes were leaking so I put in the 2 piece tubes.

For the rebuild should I replace the 2 piece tubes with the 1 piece? If not, what about the seals?

I would replace them with the one piece kind. The one piece kind are cheap.

no question, go one piece. ive seen the collapsibles leak after a while. they are cheap, they are the correct piece and your rebuilding it anyway. do it. when you buy a full seal kit you get the green o rings for the return tubes anyway.

I've been using the Weltmeister collapsible tubes since I got the car, about 4 years and they haven't leaked a drop. During the rebuild I went to the local O ring supply house and got replacement o rings for the small thin ones. I used the green ones for the other size. They are a very tight fit. The O ring place didn't have a good size for the bigger o rings only about a 0.3mm interference which might work. The origianal larger rings were deformed so I couldn't tell what the original size was. I guess I could have contacted Weltmeister and see if they had a o ring replacement kit.

Hey hcoles, what are the size of the small thin o-rings that you talk about. My car cames with the Weltmeister oil return tubes and Pelican's dont carry them. I dont know were to buy it.
