Piston Squirters
I am in the process of cleaning my cases ( the mandatory 10 hours) and I am having no luck getting the piston oil squirters on either side of the case to show any sign of flow. I'm doing it as per Waynes book but nothing. The cases were clean when they came apart, no catastrophic failure. It's as though they go nowhere. I can't imagine them being so clogged I couldn't get a piece of safety wire to go through the passageway. It will go about two inches in on the squirter side and then it runs into a wall. About three inches on the web side and then the same thing; brick wall.
Anyone have a trick besides the fuel line through the bolt hole? I get absolutely nothing through the hole in the squirter. Please help. Lindy |

The squirter is only 3/4" long and has a ball and spring inside to hold it closed until enough pressure is built up to open them, somewhere around 40 psi. On one side of the case you only have to block off one side of the through case bolt and apply air pressure to the other side to get the squirter to work, the other case half is a bit harder to do.

There are lots of posts on this. You shouldnt be able to stik wire through them.
On stubborn ones I've found it helpful to "twirl" a bit of fine wire gently inside the squirter while its full of fluid, then continue spraying them out using the prescribed method.

I guess before I ask a dumb question that I learn to use this site. I searched "piston squirters" and got all the info I could use and more. Sorry to waste the air.
