Q ... head stud problem fixed on 964?

Are the head stud problems of earlier years resolved in 1992 964 engines, or should I be adding Racewear or Supertec studs to my shopping cart for my non-race engine rebuild?

Help me here, guys ... yes, no, maybe ??

I need to order parts and I'd rather spend $5-600 on other stuff if studs don't need replacing.

The last couple 964s I opened one had 24 steel and the other had 24 black dilivars. I wouldnt build to the existing black dilivars but would build to new dilivars or 993 dilivars or steel. My 930 built 13 years ago has 24 993 dilivars with out problems.
The last 20 + engines I ve built has been with steel

Thanks Bruce,
That looks like one vote to stay with my standard steel studs.
Anyone care to call his bluff or raise?

I agree with the steel or Supertec and possibly the newest dilavar. I view dilavar as a service item and will eventually fail. JMHO Mine did on an 88 Carrera
