Mca, good to hear. My experience exactly! I am no longer freaked out! Leak proof, I followed waynes book to the letter. Organisation is the key. Line Up nuts and washers. I made the rod and chain supports out of 24g metal. Use a timer, it'll actually help you slow down. Write down your torque settings in big print where you can see them. It wasn't bad. Figuring how to get the engine out of my basement is the hard part!

Shew, I'm glad I'm not the only one with the basement dilemma.

Are you doing a full rebuild entirely in the basement, any idea of the total weight?

You might have to cut a hole, in the side of your house.

My least favorite part was lowing the engine off of the stand.

A local pelican came over and we rented a hoist. Even that was difficult b/c the straps had to be precisely placed so that they didn't destroy the CIS. In the future I will install the CIS once the engine is on the ground.

With three people it should be pretty easy. But with two it gets tricky.

I actually dropped my engine trying to get it on the stand, thats what I get for trying to do it myself.

Then I got smart and got help.

Just carried in the trans myself, (down the stairs) that was actually a lot lighter then i thought it would.
